Presidio County encompasses 2,698,735 acres of mountainous desert terrain. Including some of the oldest continuously farmed land in the Redford/Presidio areas.
Marfa is home to a large art community and many historical sites. Some of the sites include Ft. Leaton, home of early drover Milton Favor, and many old stomping grounds of Pancho Villa himself.

Hi There! My name is Matlin Sain and I am the County Extension Agent for Presidio County! I hope we eventually have the opportunity to meet face-to-face, but until then here is a little about myself. I was born and raised in Lake Jackson, Texas and am a proud Bearkat! Eat Em’ Up Kats! I attended college at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas for both my Bachelor of Science and my Master of Science. I have always had a passion for the agriculture industry and teaching. What better way to combine those passions?! Therefore, I decided that I wanted to try my hand at becoming a county extension agent!
